Residents
will be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Families and friends are welcomed, and encouraged to
visit as often as they wish, and to stay as long as
they want. We also enable residents to visit their loved
ones, particularly on special occasions, thus preserving
those family ties and lifelong friendships which most
residents hold in high regard. Consequently, a primary
aim at Whitehills Care Home is to promote a customer
focus by actively encouraging and enabling residents
to become involved in the running of their new home.
Whitehills recognises that additional comfort and support
to new residents and their families will be required
during this difficult period of adjustment in their
lives. This is achieved by the adoption of the 'key
worker' approach, where identified members of staff
are able to build a relationship with residents and
their families.
All residents will be cared for within a friendly and
caring environment by a team of dedicated and committed
staff under the leadership of a very experienced and
able Home Manager. The staffing complement includes:
assistant managers, registered nurses, those with vocational
qualifications in care, activities organisers, chefs,
cooks, kitchen assistants, housekeepers, domestics,
maintenance personnel and office staff. Thistle Healthcare
endeavours to employ staff locally to facilitate the
'at home' environment but also to support the local
community.
