Netherton
Court Care Home was one of the first of Thistle Healthcare's
new generation care homes in Scotland.
It is situated in the Lanarkshire town of Wishaw in
close proximity to Hamilton and Motherwell. There is
excellent public transport into the town centre, and
easy access to the main thoroughfares leading to neighbouring
towns, villages, and the City of Glasgow.
The home was constructed in 1999 and designed to accommodate
63 residents. All bedrooms are beautifully appointed,
incorporating all-new modern furnishings and en suite
facilities with provision for both telephone and television.
Although rooms are more than adequately furnished, residents
are always encouraged to bring in ornaments, family
photographs small items of their own furniture which
add to that feeling of being 'at home'. Bedroom doors
are fitted with a door lock, which allows residents
to limit access only to those they wish to welcome into
their personal and private space.
A dedicated activities co-ordinator is always on hand
to provide recreational activities and to assist residents
in pursuing new interests. A minibus is available for
planned day trips and regular outings to parks, theatres
and any other points of interest.
