Philosophy of Care

• It is our aim to provide a comfortable, clean, safe environment, where patient's individual needs will be met with sensitivity and respect regardless of their abilities.
  
  
• There will be flexibility at all times in the way the day is spent and privacy and preservation of dignity is paramount.
  
  
• The atmosphere should be as close to relaxed happy domesticity as possible and the avoidance of institutional type behaviour by the staff is the key to preserving individuality in the patient.
  
  
• Whilst bearing in mind the safety of other patients and staff, personal idiosyncrasies are to be encouraged.
  
  
• The patient will always be encouraged to make their own decisions regarding their care.
  
  
• All staff are expected to maintain good relationships with visitors by making them welcome at any of the Thistle Healthcare homes at all times, by being polite and courteous and by being sympathetic to their natural anxieties.
