Ardencraig Care Home is one of the latest of Thistle Healthcare's new generation care homes in Scotland.

Situated in Castlemilk on the south side of Glasgow, there are a wide array of local amenities within walking distance, including Castlemilk swimming pool and sports centre, as well as excellent transport links to the city centre.

The main part of the home was constructed in 2002 to provide 60 bedrooms, with an extension of a further 30 bedrooms completed in 2005. All the bedrooms are beautifully appointed, incorporating modern furnishings and en suite facilities with provision for both telephone and television. Although rooms are more than adequately furnished, residents are always encouraged to bring in ornaments, family photographs and small items of their own furniture which add to that feeling of being 'at home'. Bedroom doors are fitted with a door lock, which allows residents to limit access only to those they wish to welcome into their personal and private space.

A dedicated activities co-ordinator is always on hand to provide recreational activities and to help residents pursue new interests. A minibus is available for planned day trips and regular outings to parks, museums and theatres.
